When will the band arrive?
The band will arrive around an hour before hand and will require 45 minutes to set everything up. Please take this set up time into account on the day if you are running late.
What type of ceili music do you play?
We mainly play Irish and Scottish ceili music.
Will there be someone to guide people through the dances?
Night and Day can supply a caller to help ensure that even the most novice of dancers come away from the night with sore feet and fond memories.
Can I plug my ipod into your speakers?
It is absolutely fine for us to plug your ipod into our speakers for a while for no extra cost, provided this is within the time frame that the band is booked for.
We can download your first dance choice onto an ipod and play it for you on the day so that you don’t have to worry about it. We then usually invite the newly wedded couple to start off the ceili by heading the first set and inviting their guests up to join them. If you’d prefer a bit of ceili music as your first dance instead, that isn’t a problem either.
Do you have your own PA?
What facilities will you need?
We will need to somewhere to park on the day that isn’t too far from the entrance of the venue in order for us to off load and carry our equipment inside. We will also need chairs without arms and one 13 amp power socket to plug our PA system into. It would be great if we have a stage on the day but this isn’t a necessity as we can also play on the floor. We will need a space of at least 5 metres long by 2.5 metres deep.
Please also remember to leave a decent amount of space for a ceili to take place. The amount of space you’ll need will depend on the size of your wedding. We can help to advise you on this when we speak to you and get an idea of the amount of people you will have at your wedding. Wooden floors are the most appropriate type for dancing, and if the ceili is in a tent or marquee, try to set the floor up on an even part of the ground which will be much safer.
Do the band require refreshments / food?
If Night and Day musicians are playing for more than an hour and a half, they will require some refreshment drinks. Food would be gratefully received but this isn’t a necessary requirement unless it has been stipulated in your contract.
